Does my donation help in tax-saving?

All donations to WWF-India are eligible for 50% tax relief under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Section 80G allows a person to claim tax benefits on donations made to registered charitable institutions.

How do I avail tax benefit when I donate to WWF-India?

Upon donating to WWF-India, you will receive your 80G certificate. You can use this while filing your tax returns to claim the 50% tax benefit.

Is WWF-India a registered charitable organisation?

Yes, WWF-India is a registered charitable trust that was established in 1969.

When do we get the 80G certificate?

When you make a one-time contribution, your 80G donation certificate is sent to you within 10-14 days from the date of donation. If you are a monthly donor, the 80G certificate is issued towards the end of the financial year. We also issue the certificate on request — you can email us at contact@wwfindia.net.

Which details are required to avail the certificate?

To issue an 80G certificate, we need your name, email ID, phone number, and contact address. For donations of Rs 10,000/- and above, we need your PAN number as well.

Where will my donated money be used?

If you donate to a specific programme, your money will be used for various initiatives under that programme. If you choose to make a general donation or become a WWF-supporter, your funds will be used across programmes, dictated by the need and urgency of resources.
